We have a range of different Assemblies across the week at Springfield:
Monday Assemblies: These assemblies are usually led by a member of the senior leadership team and can include presentations from pupils or visitors. They aim to explore a range of topics with pupils and are often tailored to the specific needs of the school or linked to key dates. Currently, we have lots of OPAL play assemblies as we work to celebrate and improve our lunchtime sessions.
Talking Assemblies: Talking Assemblies are year group assemblies which encourage participation and discussion. Pupils explore a topical issue using resources from Picture News. They have the opportunity to reflect upon key questions in groups and share their ideas with the rest of the year group.
Singing Assemblies: On a Thursday morning, the whole school join together for a joyous session of singing together for a range of purposes and to learn about the different skills involved in colloborative singing.
Celebration Assemblies: These are online assemblies that celebration the achievements across the year groups during the week. Children from every class are selected as a result of work produced, improvements made or behaviours displayed - this is often linked to our school motto. We also celebrate achievements in times tables, spelling shed and Reading along with sporting acheivements and any other special events from the week. In addition, we reveal the winning house team from the week. These points are collected over the half term and the winning house colour has an additional break at the start of the next half team to celebrate their success!
