Our Coronavirus Lockdown 2021

As we find ourselves in Lockdown again, we are incredibly proud of the children and how much resilience they have shown whilst getting to grips the Google Classroom platform. It has been a learning curve for us all. We are grateful to all parents, carers, siblings and anyone else supporting home learning. We are impressed with the children's dedication to their learning and the high quality work they continue to produce at this difficult time. We cannot wait to welcome the children back into school when it is safe to do so.

Below are some excellent examples of some of the children's work from home.

Year 3

Year 3 have been working hard on their Science and Creative Curriculum work at home.
Here are some excellent examples.
Picture
Sadie in 3B made Stonehenge out of Jenga blocks! Great innovation.

She also shared her science experiment showing the effects of sugar on teeth by submerging an egg in different liquids.

Children in 3HL Made Stonehenge out of biscuits! Yummy! Thanks to Theo, Emily and Zola for sharing their pictures. I wonder if they ate them all afterwards? Marcel created an excellent Iron Age Round house.

Year 4

Year 4 have been designing and creating a meal to share with their families. Here are some of their amazing creations - Yummy!!

William in 4L made a delicious salad and ice cream sundae for his family! Well done William!

Elsie  in 4G made a delicious fruit crumble! Well done Elsie! It looks delicious!

Nusrat in 4G designed and made a 'face' fruit salad. She clearly thought about what she wanted to make and how she was going to create it. The colours are wonderful!

Cody in 4G helped his mum to make a spaghetti bolognese. Here he his grating the cheese - an essential ingredient to sprinkle on the top!

Abela made an amazing haddock and scallop orzo dish! She took pictures of all of the different stages to make the dish. Well done Abela!
Jasmine from 4G made yummy brownies! You can see that she carefully measured her ingredients which is very important when baking!

Jasmine has kindly shared her recipe with us if you would like to try and make them at home!

Rudy in 4G made a delicious jacket potato with Tuna and salad. A great healthy choice for lunch or tea.

Max in 4G made a planned and made a lovely ham and tomato sandwich with a side salad. His illustration shows an excellent plan of what he made.

James also made chocolate brownies and shared his ingredients with us! Maybe we should have a brownie bake off!

Elyza documents making a Chicken Casserole!
Delicious!
Year 4 have also been working hard to find solutions to a maths investigation. See the problem and some of their working out and solutions below.

Picture
William in 4L worked systematically and showed perseverance to find a solution.

Riley C in 4H spotted some rules he needed to follow to find some solutions. Well done Riley for setting your work out so beautifully!

Nathaniel in 4L found 4 separate solutions to the problem and set his work out really well so that he could work through the problems.

Year 5

Milly in 5M shared a wonderful piece of art work with us! We are so impressed with the detail and how much thought must have gone into it! Well done Milly!

Year 6

Mrs Romer-Lee was bowled over by Ethan Lovelady's piece of writing. He has used such a great range of imagery and fantastic short sentences and repetition for effect. We look forward to seeing how the story continues!
