Additional Home Learning

February 2021

Well done to everyone for working so hard this half term. We have been so impressed with the children’s ability to adapt to online learning. Thanks to all parents for supporting your children’s learning. Enjoy some time away from Google Classroom for half term and have a well-deserved rest. If you would like some ideas for things you could do together, we have collated some ideas below.  If you do something that you particularly enjoy, please send some pictures of what you have been up to your class email address.

January 2021

As with the previous lockdown, alongside the learning that will be set by class teachers, we will gather together any additional resources that we think may be useful to families during their time at home.
If you find anything that you would like to share, please let us know by emailing admin@springfieldjuniors.net and we will post it here too.

General Learning

As a third national lockdown is under way, the BBC is bringing hundreds of educational resources together to help with home schooling.
Whether on TV, online or on social media, they have lots of brilliant content to help you learn at home.
Starting on Monday 11 January, CBBC will broadcast three hours of primary school programmes from 9am every weekday. They will include BBC Bitesize Daily, as well as other much-loved shows with an educational twist, such as Our School, Celebrity Supply Teacher, Horrible Histories and more.

Keeping Active

Mr Bolton has sent out some activities for keeping fit at home:

Please see below my weekly timetable for keeping active during lockdown. There are three activities each day, One for just after breakfast, after lunch and just before dinner. These are key times of the day to get active in and around your other learning. It's a fact that exercising before learning improves how well you learn !!!
In addition, there's also three challenges per week, on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon. If you would like to participate, please record yourself doing the challenge and we will be giving out some prizes relating to these, so you may win!
Please see on the link how to enter.

When: Live every Monday, Wednesday and Friday  @9am
Where: In any space you have in your home
How: On any device that can stream the internet (smart tv, laptop, iPad, smart phone or tablet).
Who: Why not get the whole family involved and workout together? It's a great start to your day before getting logged onto google classroom for the work your teacher has set. It will help you feel ready and energised!
