April 2021
We are currently working with the Infant School to plan our forthcoming transition activities, within the restrictions that are still in place and these may be subject to change depending upon circumstances. Information regarding these will be send to parents shortly. However, we have plans in place to ensure that all your questions are answered and that the transition between schools is an smooth as possible. This includes a individual call with your child's teacher if you would like. Please also be aware that our prospectus and video shows what school is usually like and explains our normal routines. We don't currently know what September will look like but we will inform you as soon as we have any information about this. |
If you or your child are feeling overly anxious about starting Junior School in September, you can contact our Family Support Worker, Mr Rycraft.
He will happily talk through these with you and offer activities and strategies to support you at this time. His email address is fsw@springfieldjuniors.net |

The majority of our pupils transfer to Westbourne Academy which is our closest high school. Transition includes a two day visit towards the end of the Summer term - on the 7th and 8th July. All Ipswich high schools have transition activities on these days. Other transition activities include additional short visits over a longer period where necessary and small group activities in school to try to settle any possible anxieties and questions. Springfield staff meet with high school personnel to ensure that information about your child in passed on well in advance of September. |
