Job Title: Remote Learning Support Assistant Salary: Grade 3 point 4 (£18,933 fte) Full time: 25 hrs per week (generally 9am- 3pm) 38 weeks per year with occasional evening and Saturday morning working (time off in lieu will be given during the week). Job type: Fixed term until 31st August 2021 Closing date: Tuesday 8th December Interview date: Thursday 10th/Friday 11th December
We are looking to appoint a remote learning support assistant to support young people with remote learning at the point they self-isolate individually or as part of an infection cluster due to COVID 19, or with targeted young people where year group bubles switch to remote learning. In this role you will work on site at Springfield Junior School, helping young people, mainly online or by phone, to engage with the work sent home and promoting their independent learning. Families may also need support to get their children online where schoolwork is computer based. If infection levels are low in school you may provide support with catch up and independent learning with pupils on site.
RLSAs will predominantly work at Springfield Junior School but will be part of a supportive network of teaching assistants that may support other Ipswich schools that experience a spike in infections. Across the network RLSAs will take turns to cover occasional evening or Saturday morning "helpline" slots for which time will be given in lieu during the week.
Training will be provided, and this role represents an excellent opportunity for further development.
