Why safeguarding is important? Safeguarding is taken extremely seriously at Springfield Junior School. Safeguarding is about protecting children from abuse or neglect.
Members of staff have regular training which ensures their knowledge of safeguarding in school is up-to-date. All staff receive training on safeguarding and our school is fully compliant with “Working together to Safeguard Children” and “Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023” . In addition, all of our staff have completed Prevent and FGM training. Online Safety training is also held on an annual basis for staff, governors and parents.
All members of staff are aware that safeguarding is theresponsibility of everyone in school.
We will safeguard children by:
creating a safe environment for children and young people through robust safeguarding practices
ensuring that adults who work in the school, including volunteers, don't pose a risk to children
making sure that staff are trained, know how to respond to concerns and keep-up-to-date with policy and practice
teach children and young people about staying safe
maintain an environment where children feel confident to approach any member of staff if they have a worry or problem
Who can I contact? Please contact the school promptly if you have an concerns relating to safeguarding. A member of the team will contact a DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Deputy DSL immediately.
