What a great start to 2020! All the pupils who attended morning groups regularly in the Autumn Term were rewarded with a trip to see Cats at Empire Cinema. The children represented the school really well; they were a pleasure to take.
To conclude our Aztec Topic, the children designed, wrote and performed a presentation of learning. Each group of children created a short drama piece based on an episode of Horrible Histories. The finished pieces were hilarious and informative, showing off their history and geography learning whilst showcasing their drama skills. In Maths, 6T and 6C have been working on fractions, decimals and percentages and are now moving on to time. 6M have been learning about coordinates and translation. In Literacy, we have been describing contrasting settings: a magical winter wonderland and a sinister, eerie blizzard. In line with National Story Telling Week, the pupils have learnt and re-told 'The Man in Search of his Luck'. Each class have chosen a winning performer(s) who have made it through to the semi final on Tuesday afternoon, where a year group winner will be decided. This winner will be performing in the assembly on Friday 14th February.
