Year 3 Archived

Autumn Term 2019

We had a very busy first term in Year 3 so far and the children have done very well settling into their new school. During the first week, we had our Egyptian Day. We dressed up in costumes and learned lots about Egyptian pharaohs, artefacts, hunting and mummification.
We went on a trip to the Wolsey Theatre to see children’s author Jon Agee speaking about his books. He showed us lots of amazing drawings and told us some fantastic stories. He even then came into the school to run a special workshop with 3P!
We have also managed to go on a short trip to Ipswich Museum to see the Ancient Egyptian exhibition. Seeing real sarcophaguses and canopic jars was amazing!
In school we have done some fascinating learning in DT and Science. We learned about forces and investigated toy cars moving down ramps. From this we began designing and building our own toy cars that would travel down a ramp successfully. We learned lots of new skills and enjoyed being creative!
