Autumn 1

 Welcome to our Year 5 page where you can discover what our pupils are learning about
now and in the weeks ahead.

The children have already begun their weekly swimming sessions at Crown Pools on
Monday mornings, which they will continue to do for the rest of this term. Some pupils are
making great progress already.

During the first week back, they created some lovely art work in the style of Hundertwasser,
which also linked to our class book about the expedition led by Ernest Shackleton to
Antarctica. Several of their pictures are on display around the school and in class.

Coming up in DT, the children will be making a Smorrebrod (Danish open sandwich) and a
Mezze alongside honing their slicing, chopping, grating and designing skills!
Next half-term, they will have the chance to dress up as we take part in our Ancient Greeks’
day.
