Recently we welcomed our OPAL Mentor through our playground gates to see how our OPAL provision has developed this year. She worked with the OPAL working group then spent lunchtime watching the play, talking to staff and talking to pupils about lunchtime. 

After a long meeting looking at the assessment criteria, it was agreed that Springfield is an OPAL Gold school. Since the beginning of our OPAL journey, we have moved from a baseline of 24% to 83%, against OPAL criteria for positive play. There were some handy tips and further ideas were discussed to continue to develop the provision further, but we are very proud of this achievement. 

We are dedicated to continuing our play offer with the support of OPAL and would like to thank our OPAL mentor, our OPAL governor, the OPAL working group, the play team as well as all of our parents and pupils for embracing OPAL and making it the success that it is!
