Springfield Book Club
The book club meets on the first Monday of every month to share with each other the books they have been reading.
The children have a very important job this year. As a school we have been asked to help vote for the winners of the Children’s Book Award 2020. An award where only children’s votes count! So from now until January the children are able to read specially loaned books (and some donated by enthusiastic reader teachers!) and once finished they complete a simple voting form.
In March the votes from the nation will be shortened down to create a top 10 list of titles which the children will be able to borrow and have their final say!
Library Newsletter – Keep an eye out for book news in the library newsletter that is sent out four times a year.
Library opening times – extended from 12:00-1:00 each day for children to change books and have a quiet place to enjoy reading.
We have a fantastic group of junior librarians who have been trained to help keep the library tidy and organized. They are able to use the computer system to help children search for books and help with any other book queries. Last year they had a trip to Waterstones to help choose new books for the library which they read and reviewed.

The Travelling Book Fair will be arriving in school soon, with hundreds of new children’s books to browse and buy. The children will have the opportunity to browse the books before the book fair takes place. Come and join us!

Sun Book Tokens
From Saturday November 23rd and Saturday 18th January the Sun newspaper will be printing book tokens. Please can you collect them and place them in the box at the back of the hall. We need 3,500 tokens in total to receive over 100 new books for our school library.
Mrs Hardy, our library leader, has worked so hard to make the library a special place for the children to visit to share books and enjoy reading.
