The Springfield Juniors Book Club met on Monday 2nd of March and found out which authors made it to the final 12 of the children’s book awards. They have got until the middle of May to read all three books in one of the categories before casting their votes on whom they think should win!
The whole school got in on the action by reading the picture books for the younger readers and shared their opinions on who they think should win.
We will have to wait until June to find out if the Springfield pupils agree with the rest of the nation’s votes.

Library opening times – extended from 12:00-1:00 each day for children to change books and have a quiet place to enjoy reading. The library is also open every Tuesday evening after school until 4:00.
We have a fantastic group of junior librarians who have been trained to help keep the library tidy and organized. They are able to use the computer system to help children search for books and help with any other book queries. This year they have helped choose books for the library from the commission made from the book fair and have helped to catalogue them ready for the library shelves.
Travelling Book Fair
Celebrate reading at our Book Fair! More details will be sent out for our second book fair of the year in June.
Mrs Hardy, our library leader, has worked so hard to make the library a special place for the children to visit to share books and enjoy reading.
