Spring learning

Spring 1

The children in year 3 have had such a busy start to the new term and have impressed us with their knowledge and enthusiasm.

In our morning maths lessons, the children have been developing their understanding of multiplication and division. Using maths equipment has really helped to support their understanding of the concepts.

We are currently enjoying reading ‘Sam Wu is Not Afraid of the Dark’ as our class book, and it has been wonderful to witness that many children have been keen to read other books in the series.

In PE, the children are thoroughly enjoying their weekly squash lessons with a qualified coach. They have also been practising their passing, receiving and defending skills during their tag rugby lessons.

In Art, our unit focused on college and textiles. The children explored a range of colour mixing techniques and created a layered collage using different materials and textiles.

Soon, in Science, the children will be exploring forces and magnets and will carry out some experiments to test their predictions. At the end of this half-term we will complete our next DT unit on Mechanisms. We can’t wait to share their creations with you.
