Research and Development

At Springfield TSA, we recognise the importance that school-based research and development play in developing outstanding teaching and learning and supporting school improvement. Using research materials as a starting point, we ensure that we make informed decisions about our schools and classrooms.

We welcome enquiries and ideas on directions for research and development projects and endeavour to work with practitioners on innovative and creative approaches to teaching and learning, CPD and leadership.

Education Endowment Foundation

An independent charity, their aim is increase the educational achievement of disadvantaged children ensuring the all pupils can fulfil their potential. The website contains evaluations of innovative projects which aim to raise pupils’ attainment. Information is given about their effectiveness and cost-effectiveness in order for schools to use information to make informed decisions about school improvements.

The Education Endowment Foundation partnered with Suffolk County Council to provide £600,000 for the ‘Raising the Bar’ Programme. This encouraged local schools to increase evidence-based practice through participation in projects such as ‘Saphere: Philosophy for Children’ and ‘Talking, Doing, Talking Science’.


The National Education Trust was created in 2006 as an independent charitable foundation which aims to bring about improvements for learners, from early years to university entrance by assisting education leaders and practitioners in sustaining success and tackling underperformance. 

An on-going priority for the Trust is addressing the needs of vulnerable learners, including challenging ‘the achievement gap’, a stubborn feature of our education system.
