At Springfield Juniors we believe that all children should strive towards fulfilling their potential through a creative curriculum which encourages all to PLBA. Lessons are differentiated to cater for all abilities. However we acknowledge that some children have gifts and talents which need to be fostered, sometimes through extra curricular activities. Over the past year we have offered a variety of different opportunities to cater for our gifted and talented students.
Writing groups for gift and talented writers run by Miss Hudson and Mrs Everitt. Fred Sedgewick (poet) writing group every Friday for gifted and talented writers. Book club for gifted and talented readers in year 4 (weekly).
Drama – Years 3 & 4 Christmas Play
Year 6 end of year production
A maths working wall offering weekly challenges to a specific year group. There are
Year 5 and 6 gifted and talented mathematicians work with Mr Paine, a specialist maths teacher.
A twice weekly French café open to all, but run by some of our more able Year 5 & 6 pupils.
Art clubs run weekly for year 4 and another for year 5 & 6.

A vast range of PE clubs, including:
Football and Netball (competitive), for year 6.
Boxing, Year 5
Gymnastics, Years 3 & 4
Football, Years 3 & 4
Talented tennis coaching, years 3 & 4
Duathlon club, available to all year groups.
